Forgotten Tragedy: The Sultana Disaster Of 1865

On April 27, 1865 the paddle wheeler Sultana was chartered by Union officials to carry released POWs back to the north. The boat, already fighting a flood, was loaded with two thousand Union soldiers. Just after midnight, the boilers exploded and the Sultana was torn apart – the worst maritime disaster in American history. Join historian Mark Carlson to hear the story.

Cambodian Rock Band

This play/rock concert thrusts us into the life of a young woman trying to piece together her family history, thirty years after her father fled Cambodia. Featuring a cast that performs classic Cambodian oldies and Dengue Fever hits — a movement cut short by the Khmer Rouge’s attempt to erase the music (and musicians).
