California Tapestry At Mission Trails
Art exhibition by Los Angeles-based artist, Lesley Goren, whose images of plants and flowers are a self-described “love note” to the native vegetation of Southern California. The works on display include drawings of Scarlet Monkey Flowers (Mimulus cardinales), Shooting Stars (Primula clevelandii), and Yellow Mariposa Lilies (Calochortus luteus). Goren has created two new custom greeting card designs for Mission Trails Regional Park.

Wild Walk: Carnivore Carnival
San Diego is home to a diverse ecosystem of animals on the planet, and this includes carnivores. Come learn about the predators that call San Diego home, how you can live harmoniously with them, and why chances are, you’ll hardly ever see them. All “wild walks” include an animal presentation, and a short, easy hike into the neighboring San Diego National Wildlife Refuge.
San Diego Smooth Jazz Festival
Hosted by Prince saxophonist Eric Darius, Saturday’s headliner bill includes Boney James, Jonathan Butler with Kirk Whalum, Brian Simpson & Jazmin Ghent, Tony Exum Jr., and a West Coast Jam with Peter White, Richard Elliot, and DW3. Sunday will feature Darius, Norman Brown, Monty Seward, Mariea Antoinette, and Sax to the Max with Michael Lington, Vincent Ingala, and Paul Taylor.
