San Diego State not that selective

A better rat trap

Better trap builder

I just read the recent article titled “San Diego rat tales” by Dryw Keltz (Neighborhood News, August 13). I wanted to say that I follow all of the news covering rodent related issues around California and the United States and this was a refreshing read to say the least. Dryw did an excellent job researching his piece and sharing good data to support his opinion. I especially appreciated his effort to find a safe and humane method of rodent control. I thought it would be worth reaching out and introducing you to the Goodnature A24 Automatic Rat and Mouse Trap. We distribute this unique, CO2-powered trap that was designed with conservationists for eradicating invasive rodents. The trap is 100% poison-free and certified humane. Additionally the trap is self-resetting for simple, low-maintenance rodent control.

Joke’s on State students

Is this title a joke (“San Diego State – an elite school,” Cover Stories, August 14)? 69,000 apply for 5,400 spots but offers of admission go to about 24,000 to make sure those 5,400 spots are filled. Do you think 5,400 are offered admission and all of them accept? SDSU admits about 35% not 7%. Hardly “elite.”

If we take local private colleges and the ten-campus University of California system out of the equation, San Diego State sparkles. Of late, the campus’s desirability rivals most state schools in America.

Idle worshipper

My fellow San Diegans, Todd is our God (“Gavin Newsom carries water for billionaire benefactor,” News Ticker, August 9)! Sign of the cross everyone! San Diego revers Todd especially our beloved community of Hillcrest home of La Cage aux Folles. A sinner however slipped God Todd a Micky Finn on University Avenue! Seems our deity has gone south with being God. I’m sick and crestfallen beyond repair. I was a devout believer in God Todd! After all, every member of the California State Assembly endorsed God Todd so how can we be so wrong? Even Jerry the Jesuit endorsed God Todd! Jerry? I was over the moon for Jer! Linda too! So, let’s get down to business in getting God elected in San Diego! I’m a candidate too except I can’t match God Todd! They call me a misogynist for liking bikini girls! I’m a horrible and terrible man. God bless you, my fellow San Diegans, in Christ!
