Marks madness

Scott Marks covers the movie front for this week's new releases, including Wildling and Tully

For a while there, Ye Olde new release schedule seemed to be waving a blank white flag of surrender: "Oh, Avengers: Infinity War, we know better than to try to compete with your awesome earning power, even on your second weekend." Yes, Little Pink House would get a release at The Ken, because it seemed fitting to offer a true story of the Little Guy (or Gal, in this case) going up against the System. But then came word that Tully would get a wide release in the way of counterprogramming. A little Diablo Cody stylized realism — a family dealing with the arrival of a third kid — to bump up against superheroes dealing with the fate of the universe.

Scott Marks saw 'em both, but he didn't get excited until he dug a little deeper and found Wildling and Claire's Camera at the Digital Gym. (Lesson: there's lots of movies out there if you're willing to look!)

Finally, the long-delayed Back to Burgundy decided to make today the day. Whaddya know, Scott saw that one too.
