Local new-wave rockers the Dinettes formed in early 1979, an all-girl band riding Southern California’s punk wave — though they had more in common Joan Jett. Courted by Runaways mastermind Kim Fowley, they released a few tracks and then imploded around 1981. An unexpected reunion (minus one deceased member) took place last summer in Carlsbad which was so well received that the band is staging another reunion on Thursday, December 28, at the Casbah. Local mod-rockers Manual Scan open.
