— Vessel adrift in Mariners Basin on shore off Capistrano Ct. 20’ Cabin cruiser broke free from mooring 912 and is dry on shore according to 24 Sam. R/O contacted and he is going to contact Vessel Assist to try and pull the vessel off of shore tomorrow am at the next highest tide. The vessel is unable to be moved anytime today.

— Unconscious male of unknown age off of Niagara Ave under the OB Pier. Lifeguards request medics and the patient wakes and becomes conscious. Patient eloped before medics arrive. Clear.

2/17

— Juvenile common dolphin caught in fishing line/net at La Jolla Cove. Jet 3 and 3-Sam capture injured animal and put in R-5, but it has major trauma to dorsal fin and is deceased. SeaWorld and Fisheries contacted. R-5 transports to SeaWorld dock.

— 911 call for two surfers outside surf off Ormond Ct. 21 Sam at scene during call triage and meets with RP confirms all clear after R-5 makes contact with surfers.

— MDC call for 40 y/o male experiencing a seizure on middle of OB Pier. Unit 1 arrives at scene and vectors medics in. 1 Sam transports medics on pier. Medics arrive to take over and transport to unknown location.

— 80 year old female with a fall/fainting on the Seaforth dock. 4 Sam responds. Patient refuses treatment.

— 40 y/o male. Alcohol on board at foot of Ventura Ct. Unit 23, Engine 21 and Medic 17 respond. SDPD handles.

2/15

— SDPD relays a report of a female who states she saw a male with curly hair leave his pants on the sea wall, enter the water north of the OB Pier and has not returned. 24 Sam, lifeguard rescue vessel, 3 King, 4 Lincoln, Copter 1, SDPD 613 John and 616 Sam respond. A search is conducted by land, sea and air w/nothing found.

— Caller is reporting a citizen making a rescue at Neptune on a boy who was swept off the rocks. Lifeguard rescue vessel, 3 Sam, E 13 and MR 9 respond. 3 Sam requests the crew in from the lifeguard rescue vessel in. The citizen is off duty guard Maher who makes 2 rescues. 2 patients AMA with fire.

— 911 call reporting a sail boat nearing the surf at Bird Rock. Two lifeguard rescue vessels respond as well as Jet 20, unable to locate.

— Loose surfboard reported at Windansea. A lifeguard rescue vessel responds and locates the board but no surfer/clear.

— Stroke patient reported at Santa Clara Place and Ocean Front Walk; 2 Sam, Unit 200, E 21 and M 21 respond. Lifeguards clear and medics handle.

— Lower leg injury from a fall on the stairs reported by the lifeguards at La Jolla Cove. E 9 and M 21 respond, M 21 transports to Scripps.

— A report of two individuals on one board having trouble in the water by the first parking lot at Sunset Cliffs. Lifeguard rescue vessel and 24 Sam respond. Only one person on a paddle board, no assistance needed.

— SDPD and Fire request lifeguards for a vehicle in the water at the South West end of Fiesta Island. 1 person in the car who is rescued via citizens, no injuries recorded via Fire. SDPD will work with a tow company to salvage the vehicle around 10 am. LG’s clear.

— 3 Jet skis in the surf south of OB Pier. 2 operators ejected and rescued and brought to shore. 1 operator makes it to the outside. Private salvage operations will take place later for the 2 pwcs on the beach. All 3 operators cited by lifeguards.

— Vessel in the surf line off tower 5 dog beach area. 26 foot Sundowner with 7 people on board runs to shore and is able to turn and make it out through the surf. Rescue west escorts the vessel to the reception dock for citations.

— Surfers lost boards off Froude St. 2 surfers lost their boards and are trying to come in when an RP called 911. Jet 1 able to pick up and rescue both victims in question. Jet 1 rescues a third surfer; all were deposited safely at no surf beach.

— Vessel in the surf at Dog Beach, 1 Sam requests a surf boat. Vessel is able to clear itself and rescue west clears them after inspection.

— 2 kids stuck on the rocks at Westbourne and Nautilus. Unit 32 and 3 Sam on scene request fire for an extension ladder to get them down. No injuries and all units clear after rescue.

— Capsized sailing vessel off Pt. Loma Lighthouse. Rescue west and 1 Sam on scene with Harbor Police. Harbor Police tow vessel to SD Bay while Rescue west transports a patient with head injuries to the Harbor Police dock. Medics transport.

— 5 swimmers in a rip at Dog Beach. Call came in as a 911 call but the OB lifeguards were already on scene. Clear with all victims on the beach.

— Injured surfer helped out of the water at Scripps Beach. 23 y/o male with a knee injury. 31 Sam, Unit 33, Engine 9 and Medic Rescue 9 respond. Medics cancelled. Lifeguards assist to parking lot and patient AMA.

— 25’ Cabin cruiser attached to a beach bar near Kingston Ct. in Santa Barbara Cove. Rescue responds. Owner contacted and boat posted.

— Surfer injured near Calumet Park. 20 y/o male w/ leg injury from surfing. Rescue vessel, 2 Sam, Jet 20 and Engine 3 respond. Patient is no aid.

— Two swimmers in distress near Sunny Jims Cave. 3 Sam, 3x, Jet 3 and rescue west respond. Jet 3 clear with 2 water rescues.

— Swimmer in distress at the Arch on sunset cliffs of 28 y/o male. Alert and oriented and uninjured. 1 Sam, 2 Sam, 3 Linc, rescue vessel, R 44, Engine 22, Medic 20 and SDPD respond. Clear after cliff rescue.

— Missing surfer in the water near Tourmaline. 10 y/o male. Unit 25, 21 Sam and Jet 20 respond. Boy found with father. Jet 20 transports to shore.

— Vessel collision and adrift, no injuries in Quivira Basin. Rescue 3, Marine 1, 4 Sam and SDPD 122V respond. Suspect vessel damaged a few other boats in Marina Village. Vessel secured and towed back to Marina Village dock. 122V handles the Vessel Accident.

— Vessel in distress at the mouth of Mission Bay Channel. Guardian and Marine I respond. Vessel clears from Disasters and makes way to safety.

— 24 year old male assaulted at Hornblend St. and Ocean Blvd. Utility X at scene. Fire handles.

— Person with alcohol on Board. 200 Vista Del Mar. Unit 300, SDPD, Engine 16 Medic 9 and 3 Sam respond. Female located by Unit 33 and escorted to Fire and SDPD. Fire handles.

— Unknown medical aid possible OD at Law St. 21 Sam requests medics. Heroin patient revived by medics and transported to and unknown destination.

— Surfer possibly in distress at OB by the South Channel Jetty. Rescue West contacts surfer and he is clear, no need of assistance.

— Bike crash at Palomar and Neptune on a 25 year old female with and altered level of consciousness. Medics and Lifeguards respond. Medic 9 transports to Scripps La Jolla.

— Unresponsive 51 year old female face down in the sand at 700 Sunset Ct. Reporting party is concerned for the female. Patient is met by lifeguards and fire and eventually released to her husband with no medical aid.

— 911 call of a swimmer in distress at Blacks in the Steel Ball area. Due to a non-passable access road lifeguards can only access via Indian Canyon trail or via Sea. 31 Sam responds to the top of the cliffs and Jet 3 responds from La Jolla Shores. Citizens help the swimmer out of the water. Jet 3 is on scene to assess the victim who is in no further need of assistance.

— Stingray patient reported via call box at Tourmaline. 30 y/o male in mild pain. Unit 25 responds to investigate. Patient refuses treatment, and will self treat at home.
