Gilbert Castellanos will be leading a group to celebrate the inauguration of SD City Councilmember Chris Ward, with Lorraine Castellanos on vocals, Bob Boss on guitar, Dean Hulett on bass, and Kevin Higuchi on drums at Panama 66 (1450 El Prado) from 5 to 7 p.m. Free.

Tuesday 13
KSDS Jazz Live presents an intimate duet concert with pianist Geoffrey Keezer and vocalist Gillian Margot with accompaniment from the Kate Hatmaker String Quartet. This all happens at the Saville Theatre (14th & C Streets) at 8 p.m. Free to all Jazz 88 members, $10 general admission.

The Jazz 88 blues jam gets cooking at Proud Mary’s Southern Bar & Grill (5500 Kearny Mesa Road) hosted by guitarist Mark Augustin and J. Otis Williams from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Free and family-friendly… Gilbert Castellanos begins his double shift at Panama 66 when he hosts the Young Lions series at 6 p.m. this week featuring the Nick Caldwell Quartet with John Murray, Carmen Murray, and Brenda Greggio before leading the weekly jam session in the Copley Auditorium from 8:30 to 11:30 p.m. All ages, no cover, musicians bring your horns!
