You can see the popular Children’s Stick Horse Race (kids 3 to 6) at every show, though — 50 kids running with stick horses at once. Also on Saturday and Sunday.

Handmade arts and crafts on the farm with recycled, restored, vintage, antique, and handmade wares. The market is part of a weekend Spring Festival. On Saturday, eight of San Diego’s favorite food trucks will be serving up the grub. The lineup includes Two for the Road, Pierogi Truck, Organic Food Truck, Perky Beans, That’s What Cheese Said, Devilicious, Epic Eatz, and Chubby’s. Live music from Calico Ridge on the Bates Stage from noon to 3 p.m., along with pony rides, a petting zoo, and face painting. On Sunday, check out the Heartbeat Happening classic car show.

Five other acts perform on The Lumberyard Courtyard Stage, including the Bayou Brothers, while up-and-coming stars will entertain at the Hansen’s Community Stage. Thrill seekers can visit the Adventure Zone at H Street filled with options for summer camps, surf camps, scuba instruction, and kayak lessons. Canine companions will find pet-centric exhibitors in the Dog Zone at I Street plus free activities in the 2000-square-foot dog park. Also on Sunday.

The theme for 2016 is “A Community of Learning.” Fun fact: Linda Vista is one of the few places in the world where you can go from pre-school to PhD all within the same neighborhood.
