If last year’s Fading Frontier wasn’t your favorite Deerhunter disc, word has it that the band’s high-water mark, Halcyon Digest, plays a prominent role in their live show.
Spring Fling Arts, Crafts, & Vintage Market
Handmade arts and crafts on the farm with recycled, restored, vintage, antique, and handmade wares. The market is part of a weekend Spring Festival. On Saturday, eight of San Diego’s favorite food trucks will be serving up the grub. The lineup includes Two for the Road, Pierogi Truck, Organic Food Truck, Perky Beans, That’s What Cheese Said, Devilicious, Epic Eatz, and Chubby’s. Live music from Calico Ridge on the Bates Stage from noon to 3 p.m., along with pony rides, a petting zoo, and face painting. On Sunday, check out the Heartbeat Happening classic car show.
Bonsai Club Exhibition
The 51st annual spring showcase of everything bonsai. Bonsai-technique demonstrations daily at 11 p.m. and 1 p.m. Plants of varying sizes and species and bonsai-related items for sale by San Diego Bonsai Club members. In room 101. Also on Sunday.
Encinitas Street Fair
Five bands will play the Beer Garden Stage, including the Karlos Paez Band (lead vocalist of the B*Side Players) and Ginger Roots & the Protectors (reggae). Five other acts perform on The Lumberyard Courtyard Stage, including the Bayou Brothers, while up-and-coming stars will entertain at the Hansen’s Community Stage. Thrill seekers can visit the Adventure Zone at H Street filled with options for summer camps, surf camps, scuba instruction, and kayak lessons. Canine companions will find pet-centric exhibitors in the Dog Zone at I Street plus free activities in the 2000-square-foot dog park. Also on Sunday.

Linda Vista hosts their own street fair to “promote cultural awareness and understanding within the City of San Diego with cultural exhibits, varied ethnic food offerings, and artistic performances.” With three stages of multicultural entertainment (including acts from Tijuana), carnival rides, an interactive kids’ zone, and an Education Lane. The theme for 2016 is “A Community of Learning.” Fun fact: Linda Vista is one of the few places in the world where you can go from pre-school to PhD all within the same neighborhood.

Hawaiian culture, arts, and athletics come together for a day on Mission Bay with a youth-only canoe regatta, SUP race for adults, stages of Hawaiian and Tahitian entertainment, boutique vendors, and island-inspired food vendors. Sponsored by nonprofit charity and youth-only program Nā Koa Kai Canoe Club.
Boho Luxe Wedding Party
Two couture bridal fashion shows on the catwalk will showcase the 2016 collection by L.A. designer Adolfo Sanchez, hot off the New York and L.A. Fashion Week runways. The bridal-gown guru will be onsite to meet and greet.
