Monday 2
Vocalist Allison Adams Tucker brings her trio with pianist Danny Green and drummer Julien Cantelm into the Lyceum Theatre (79 Broadway Circle) for a free, noontime concert… Multi-instrumentalist/vocalist Jen Shyu with special guest Mark Dresser appears at UC San Diego’s the Loft (911 Lyman Lane) at 7:00 p.m. for another free show.

Tuesday 3
The monthly jam session at 3rd Space (4610 Park Avenue) is back, featuring the house band led by bassist Ben Wanicur with pianist Jason Shattil, saxophonist Ian Tordella, and drummer Charlie Weller. Starts at 8:00 p.m. goes to 11:00 p.m. A $5 cover goes straight to the musicians.

Wednesday 4
Trumpeter Gilbert Castellanos pulls a double-duty shift, starting his night by hosting the Young Lions Series at Croce’s Park West (2760 Fifth Avenue) this week featuring Scott Roberts. Castellanos plays the first set, then heads to the Latin jam session at Seven Grand (3054 University) where the music starts at 9:00 p.m. 21+ no cover, musicians bring your instruments!

Thursday 5
The Danny Green Trio, featuring Green on piano, Justin Grinnell on bass, and Julien Cantelm on drums, is playing at Jazz at the Merc (42051 Main Street, Temecula) from 7:30 p.m. $15 at the door… The Jazz 88 Happy Hour features the Jaime Valle Latin Jazz Quartet at the Lafayette Hotel (2223 El Cajon Boulevard) from 5:00 p.m. $10 cover.

Friday 6
Fresh Sound presents New Yorker Ross Karre in a solo percussion program at Bread & Salt (1955 Julian Avenue) at 7:30 p.m. $15 at the door… The Danny Green Trio plays Panama 66 (1450 El Prado) from 7:00 p.m. No cover charge… Joe Garrison & Night People with special guests Chris Warren and Dave Millard bliss out at the Seaside Center for Spiritual Living (1613 Lake Drive, Encinitas) at 7:30 p.m. $15 at the door… The Charlie Arbelaez Trio with Harley Magsino on bass and Matthew Smith on drums hit at the Rook Bar (7745 University Avenue) at 9:30 p.m. 21+ no cover, midnight jam session to follow...and the Kevin Hays New Day Trio perform at the Athenaeum Music & Arts Library (1008 Wall Street) at 7:30 p.m. $26 general admission, $21 members.

The Fuss, with Robert Dove on saxophone, Ed Kornhauser on keys, Mackenzie Leighton on bass, and Kevin Higuchi on drums, plays 98 Bottles (2400 Kettner Boulevard) at 8:00 p.m. $15 at the door… Son Pa Ti, featuring Alex Lopez, Mark Lopez, Alberto Diaz, Oscar Angulo, and Nelson Guzman, plays at Turquoise (873 Turquoise Street) from 9:00 p.m. No cover charge… The Charlie Arbelaez + Matt Hall Quintet perform at Croce’s Park West, with Kiefer Shackelford, John Hurst, and Ryan Shaw, at 7:00 p.m. $7 cover charge.

Guitarist Wayne Riker does his one-man show Beatles from Bach to Bebop at the Sunshine Brooks Theater (217 N. Coast Highway, Oceanside) at 6:00 p.m. $10… The Matt Smith Neu Jazz Trio, with Ed Kornhauser and Mackenzie Leighton, hosts the Sunday Jam at 98 Bottles from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. 21+ free!
