Piano-pounding indie-pop trio Jukebox the Ghost headlines sets at Soda Bar on Monday.

Sunday 1
Super Bowl Sunday. That is all.

Monday 2
Casbah’s Anti-Monday team tags Pleasure Fix, the Slashes, and the Bassics for indie-eclectic sets this week. Meet South Bay band the Bassics in this week’s “Imperial Bassics” Blurt...piano-pounding indie-pop trio Jukebox the Ghost headlines sets at Soda Bar after Twin Forks and the Secret Someones...while Lauren Scheff’s All-Star Jammers cram onto the Office stage. Office memo: the second set’s an open jam, and, no, I will not be rocking my pan flute again. Apparently it doesn’t “fit the vibe.” Whatever.

Funky jam band Lettuce heads to Belly Up Tuesday night!

Tuesday 3
Dark-rock dames L.A. Witch hit the Hideout after our own Amerikan Bear Tuesday night. This is the ladies’ “Drive Your Car” tour, spreading their bewitching distorto brew all up and down the Left Coast. L.A. Magazine hits the nail’s head describing them thusly: “Imagine Kim Deal influenced by Nirvana, rather than the other way around”.... Else: from Hollywood-via-London, “no-nonsense rockers” Charming Liars will be right up the street at Soda Bar with local indie-rock act Oliver Trolley...there’s a Tim Pyles joint at Casbah featuring eclectic sets by Los Kung Fu Monkeys (ska), Authentic Sellout (punk), and the Bassics (mod)...while Beantown funkin’ jam band Lettuce heads into Belly Up.

Banjo man Tony Furtado plays the Loft at UCSD on Wednesday.

Wednesday 4
Humpnight hits like this: banjo freak Tony Furtado and fiddler Luke Price (he was the 2014 Grand National Fiddle Champion, dontchaknow) will share the stage at UCSD’s Loft space after the Western Collective, a San Diego supergroup featuring Fast Heart Mart, Justin Werner, Trent Hancock, Chad Farran, and Jamie Shadowlight...while SoCal singer/songwriter Rocco DeLuca’s at House of Blues with J III and Old Man.
