January 12, Garrett Smythe, aka drummer Tank Johnson of Deadbolt.

February 5, Professor Guy Duckworth (91), pianist, teacher, theorist acclaimed in the field of piano pedagogy.

March 26, Marlene Cutkosky Pommerenke (78), classical pianist, performed with the San Diego Symphony, released two albums.

April 26, William “Ninnie” Brown, guitar/bass with Timepiece (Wayne Riker), Shelle.

May 19, Roy L. Chuhna (97), pianist, teacher, played at Kozaks Restaurant in El Cajon for nearly two decades.

December 3, Scott Weiland (48), singer, Mighty Joe Young, Stone Temple Pilots.
