Sunday 2
Classic-rock radio staples Def Leppard (“Photograph,” “Pour Some Sugar on Me”) will rock the house at Pechanga Resort & Casino in Temecula Sunday night. Just off a powerhouse tour with 2014 Rock and Hall of Fame inductees Kiss, Def Leppard frontman Joe Elliott called his band’s annual snub by the Hall “rubbish.” The arena-rock act from Sheffield, England, is one of the top-selling acts of all-time (concerts and recordings, of which they’ve sold more than 100 million worldwide) and has been eligible for the Rock Hall since 2004. They’ll show you, you sons of bitches! Tickets start at $150. Bite it.... Best of the rest: Euro-pop darling Yelle will be at Belly Up with SanFran dance band Lemonade...East Coast folkies O’Death will headline Dave Good’s Of Notable show this week at Soda Bar...while Seattle funk-metal act Spacewaster takes the Tower with loud-ass locals Idols Plague, Hocus, and Badabing.

Classic-rock radio staples Def Leppard are a safe bet Sunday at Pechanga Resort & Casino in Temecula. The ante, however, is $150.

“Legend...wait for it...dairy!” That punk-informed roots-rocking singer-songwriter Alejandro Escovedo and Peter Buck, who played a big jangly Ric in a band called R.E.M., will share the stage at Belly Up Monday night. I don’t even care if they play chess onstage, I just want to hang. See you in Solana Beach.... “Your new favorite punk band” Iceage hits Casbah’s Anti-Monday night this week. They’re from Copenhagen, and they’re not that punk, actually. Their 2011 breakthrough, New Brigade, was tagged as “downer no-wave hardcore,” which I had no idea what that meant until I listened to this year’s Plowing into the Field of Love. It features piano, mandolin, viola, and organ and is an engaging listen, very downer no-wave hardcore. Check out earwürm “Abundant Living” on this week’s Club Crawler show. London-based experimental electronic musician Helm sets it up.

Copenhagen post-punks Iceage flow onto Casbah's stage Monday night.

From Berlin, Germany, via Bet She’an, Israel, “Charlie Megira is a comet. He’ll dazzle your brain with his splendor and tear your soul apart with his poisonous trail.” Megira’s an Elvis-obsessed rockabilly riot. He and his Modern Dance Club, featuring the Dead Girl and Corso, will be tearing it up out at the Tower with Kids in Heat on Tuesday night.... Around town: Kansas City’s indie hip-hop provocateur Tech N9ne and his Band of Psychos tour rolls up on House of Blues behind this year’s mixed bag of collabs Strangeulation...while Casbah stages another Berlin band, Ballet School, which is touring in support of its Bella Union debut, The Dew Lasts an Hour. It’s guitar-gaze that sounds synth-made, like their touchstone Cocteau Twins. Glasmus and Sundrop Electric plug in first.

Husband and wife folk-rock duo Shovels & Rope play Belly Up on Wednesday.

Wednesday 5
Running out of room, so real quik with your humpnight hits: Sparta, Tennessee’s indie-rock staples the Features play Casbah behind their recent self-titled effort, after Brooklyn-based psych-rock band Chappo and L.A. altronica act Magic Bronson.... According to Rolling Stone, this year’s Dualtone disc Swimmin’ Time has swept married folk duo Shovels & Rope’s rudimentary guitar-and-junkyard-drum setup out of Charleston, South Carolina, and onto the national stage. They play Belly Up after Old Crow Medicine Show’s nu-grass folkie founder Willie Watson. Git up, git out.
