Tuesday 4
Bassist Ben Wanicur hosts the Jam Session at 3rd Space (4610 Park Boulevard) with John Opferkuch on piano and Tim McMahon on drums. Pianist Mikan Zlatkovich is joined by Katie Thiroux on bass with Matt Willox on drums at Eddie V’s (1270 Prospect, La Jolla).

Wednesday 5
Trumpeter Gilbert Castellanos opens the evening at 7:30, leading the Young Lions at Croce’s Park West, (2760 Fifth Avenue), then shoots over to North Park for the Latin Jazz Jam Session at Seven Grand (3054 University Avenue), with Rob Thorsen, Mike Holguin, Irving Flores and Charlie Chavez.

Thursday 6
Guitarist Bob Boss teams with bass legend Marshall Hawkins at The Merc, (42051 Main Street, Temecula). Tickets are $15, concert begins at 7:30 p.m. The HM3 perform at Seven Grand, featuring Harley Magsino on bass, Joshua White on keyboard and Charles Weller on drums. First set begins at 9 p.m.

Friday 7
Southern California flute virtuoso Nicole Mitchell and Sun Dial Ensemble perform a Fresh Sound production (last minute venue change: Athenaeum School for the Arts, 4441 Park Boulevard.) She is joined by Mark Dresser, bass, Jeff Parker, guitar, Dwight Trible, voice, Michael Dessen, trombone, Najite Agindotan, percussion and Juan David Rubio, drums. 7:30 p.m., $15. Tenor saxophonist Bob Campbell holds court at Dizzy’s (4275 Mission Bay Drive), with pianist Joshua White, bassist Bob Magnusson, and drummer Jim Plank. Starts at 8 p.m., $15.

Saturday 8
Flute master Lori Bell and Trio de Janeiro with Ron Satterfield, Tommy Aros and Allison Adams Tucker play at 98 Bottles (2400 Kettner) 8 p.m. $15. The Joshua White Trio with bassist Dean Hulett and drummer Danny Campbell hit the Northern Spirits Jazz Club (727 West San Marcos Boulevard), at 7:30 p.m. Danish vocalist Sinne Eeg teams up with guitarist Peter Sprague, bassist Gunnar Biggs and drummer Duncan Moore at Dizzy’s. 8 p.m. $15. Eeg’s concert last year was sold out, early arrival is strongly recommended.
