Five minutes in, eyes are glued

Jim Carrey took the “I’m funny but take me serious” route to a whole different level with Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. One of the only movies I crave watching over and over. Simply heartbreaking, and will always fit that mood of when you just want to curl in bed, drink tea, and maybe cry a little. Its use of storytelling cleverly makes the viewer explore the timeline of the plot. Warning: do not watch after a break-up.

When the umpteenth person suggested HBO’s True Detective to me, I decided to give it a try. Five minutes in, eyes are glued to the screen and I’m hooked. Another non-linear plot serves up some breathtaking cinematography, as you see the meticulously crafted backdrops. Also, Matthew McConaughey wears some really well-fitting pants, which is a whole different story in my book.
