Jazz Live a KSDS Jazz 88 production, continues their summer concert series with LA vocalist Barbara Morrison fronting an 18-piece orchestra and reflecting on the legacy of Dinah Washington at the Saville Theatre on the campus of San Diego City College (14th & C Street). Free to Jazz 88 members, $10 general admission, 8:00 p.m.

Trumpeter Gilbert Castellanos hosts the Young Lions Series at Croce’s Park West (2760 Fifth Avenue) this week featuring the Nathan Collins Quartet with Ed Kornhauser on piano, Antar Martin on bass, and Fernando Gomez on drums. They start at 7:00 p.m. with a $5 cover. Castellanos plays the first set, then he’s off to the Latin Jazz jam session at Seven Grand (3054 University Avenue) where he sets up with Irving Flores, Rob Thorsen, and Mike Holguin. Music starts at 9:00 p.m., 21+, no cover, musicians bring your horns!
