Boogie Nights, The Shining

Boogie Nights is a classic from director Paul Thomas Anderson. The commentaries alone are worth the purchase. This is a must have for fans of P.T. Anderson and aspiring filmmakers. Great picture quality and bonus material.

I do not buy every movie I like on Blu-ray or DVD. However, Stanley Kubrick’s The Shining is a must have. The picture and audio quality is much improved in this version.

There’s also a great behind-the-scenes mini-doc that shows an interesting insight into the film, which was filmed by Kubrick’s daughter, Vivian. The mini-doc also has a commentary by Vivian Kubrick. For those who are new to the work of Kubrick, this Blu-ray is a great intro into the filmmaker’s wide range of work.
