In 1948, Hollywood cast Ingrid Bergman as the title character in Joan of Arc, about the famous French folk heroine and saint who led the French army to several victories During the Hundred Years’ War. Victor Fleming’s film presents a realistic portrayal of Joan. Plus, tons of real stunts and castle sets! Even real fire! And, of course, Ingrid Bergman is hot!

Knights of the Round Table serves up a good take on an old theme. It looks to the legend of King Arthur and focuses on the affair between Lancelot (Robert Taylor) and Guinevere (Ava Gardner). The film features the best uncut charge scene with tons of riders on horseback. Fighting is full force with stuntmen in armor. And, yes, Ava Gardner is also hot.
