Jogger has heart attack in Balboa Park

A man fell to the ground, suffering from a apparent heart attack while jogging in Balboa Park on Wednesday, May 29. A woman, walking by with her husband, turned out to be a registered nurse and quickly began administering CPR until the fire department and emergency medical technicians arrived.

When asked by this writer if the emergency personnel had taken the woman's information, she indicated they had not but thought they would once the man was loaded into the ambulance.

As it turned out, no one bothered, and as the ambulance and fire truck pulled away, the nurse's husband commented that it was "surprising how rude the fire-department guys were to the pedestrians who had tried to assist the man."
