Tijuana police say they arrested a man who allegedly disguised himself as a woman to steal from various businesses in the San Antonio de Los Buenos neighborhood.

Officers captured 27-year-old Brian Roldán Cedillo at around 4 p.m. on Sunday, March 3, after the victim of a break-in earlier the same morning spotted the supposed female walking near Libramiento Rosas Magallón and called police.

The break-in was captured on video, police said. It showed what looked like a woman breaking the windows of a restaurant on Boulevard Gustavo Aubanel in the El Rubí neighborhood, police said in a statement.

The thief made off with 8350 pesos (about $680) and a device used to read credit cards, according to the police account. When officers responded to the restaurant owner's call later in the day, they discovered that what looked like a woman on the videotape was really a man disguised as a woman.

Police said a search of a handbag Roldán was carrying turned up the credit-card reading device, a wig, and feminine accessories. The police statement did not provide details on what other businesses may have been victimized by a wig-wearing thief.
