Beach Cruising

In PB, beach cruisers are the vehicle of choice.

18-year-old Yesenia Meadows rode her Isla Vista orange cruiser ($199) home from a shopping excursion at Urban Outfitters on Mission Boulevard.

She wore a vintage chambray shirt, plucked from her mom's closet, Kimichi Blue polka dot high-rise shorts (currently on sale for $29.99) and a pair of white canvas slip-ons.

Adrianna Moore rode a citrus-toned, rented beach cruiser on PB’s boardwalk. The 22-year-old was in town visiting from central California. She wore a tank purchased from a tourist shop on the boardwalk. Her favorite wardrobe pieces are her bracelets.

A handful of shops in PB and Mission Beach offer bike rentals. Pure Life Surf Shop, located at 4466 Mission Boulevard, rents beach cruisers for $20 a day or $5 for the hour. They also rent rollerblades if you’re in the mood to channel the early 1990s.

Pacific Beach bikes will deliver your rental bike free of charge to anywhere in PB. Their rentals go for $20 a day to $70 for the week.
