Car Rolls into Kensington Block Party

At about 7:00 p.m. on November 10, during a neighborhood block party on Bedford Drive in Kensington, a man driving a red Honda sedan slowly but deliberately drove through three barriers that blocked off the party area.

The man appeared to be in his 20s, high, and was either a fan of goth or perhaps still thought it was Halloween, as he had large black circles painted with makeup under his eyes, and he was wearing fangs.

After driving through one of the barriers, he briefly stopped his car, rolled down his window, and muttered an apology to a shocked woman standing nearby. Children who had been playing in the street were herded to the safety of the sidewalk by an attendee. Another partygoer threw an electric coffee pot at the man's car; another threw a bottle of Glenfiddich scotch, cracking the car's windshield.

Phone calls to the police were made, but the police did not show up. Instead, police returned a call to one of the main organizers of the block party, telling him that the suspect was caught several blocks away after crashing into someone's yard.
