Embers Out, Las Olas Rolling to Midway District?

The long -shuttered Embers Grill, previously located at 3924 West Point Loma Boulevard in the Midway Towne Center, is being remodeled for a new tenant.

While shopping in the area recently, I noticed construction activity. I came upon a couple of workers who were busy clearing out the empty eatery. Fearing they were tearing the place down, I asked one of workers what was going on. At that moment the construction supervisor drove up and I posed the same question to him. He wished to remain unidentified but gave up the name of the new place: Los Olas Mexican restaurant.

I asked if it was the same eatery that is up in Cardiff, and the supervisor said he was not sure. One more question for the supervisor: when can we expect this new place to open? Again, he was not sure but estimated "about three months to go."
