Authorities Raid Clairemont Home

Wednesday morning, September 29, federal, state and local law enforcement agencies converged on a Clairemont home for a pre-dawn raid that reportedly targeted Hell’s Angels gang members.

At 6 a.m., neighbors were awakened and brought to the street by the sound of six stun-grenades launched through windows of the home on the corner of Diane and Mt. Crispin avenues. Grenades were also exploded in two of the three motor homes at property. Police discovered that no one was home at the time.

A neighbor in the 4700 block of Diane told me he was just sitting down to his breakfast when he heard the bangs. When the man’s wife came into the kitchen and asked what the noise was, he said, “I thought you fell out of bed.” He then went outside and discovered the police activity.

“Streets were blocked from everywhere. This is the fourth raid at that house. One Memorial Day, there were police and a helicopter flying overhead announcing, “Rosie, come out." The lady in that house told me they work on their cars at 2:30 in the morning. Almost every night they race their motorcycles up and down the street....

“One of the motor homes is gone now. I don’t know if the police towed it. Yesterday you couldn’t come down the street until 12.”
