Jaywalk to Moondoggies

On Thursday, February 4, I saw at least seven people receive jaywalking tickets before 11 p.m. in front of PB Bar and Grill and Moondoggies on Garnet Avenue.

As I waited in line to get into Moondoggies, I watched two girls get tickets from two separate policemen next door. It took me a second to figure out what they could be getting tickets for because it was barely 10:30 p.m. — they were still standing, coherent, and fairly sober-looking.

The more boisterous of the two girls was livid by the time she joined the line I was in, waving her ticket above her head, yelling, "I can't believe I just got a f@cking jaywalking ticket!" every time a new person showed interest. The look on her face went from anger to shock and disgust as someone turned around to inform her how much her dash across the street would cost ($108).
