Rainwater Three to Four Feet High in Logan Heights

At approximately 9:15 am this morning (December 21) there was a flash flood in Chollas Creek near Logan and South Gregory Street that then flooded the surrounding streets and some residences and businesses. The flood continued to the 400 block of South 33rd Street.

Emergency personnel responded as some cars were partially underwater and there was a possibility of people being trapped. A small number of businesses had flooding 3' to 4' high which then subsided and they were able to muck out. A few residences were also affected with minimal flooding. Officials did advise residents to evacuate these affected homes. There no reports of injuries by 1:00 p.m., just a lot of clean-up with rain still coming down.
