When an officer arrived at the scene, he told the dispatcher, “There was no fight in progress.” He described the victim as “a female juvenile from Hoover High School.” A dispatcher subsequently requested a Spanish-speaking officer for the purpose of finding out what had transpired.

A few minutes after arriving at the Polk Street location, several officers were discussing an incident in the 4200 block of Polk Street that possibly involved the same group of people.

An officer told another officer over police radio, “Two different capers are going on here. An ice cream vendor was robbed in the 4200 block of Polk by a group of black males — probably involving the same gang of people.”

Police officers from the San Diego Unified School District also responded to this incident. Police from both agencies are continuing their investigation.
