Book Mountain Crumbles

I love the smell of used books, but at the end of this month I will have to find another place to indulge in my guilty pleasure, as my favorite bookstore in Normal Heights is going out business.

The building on Adams Avenue where Wm Burgett Books & Collectibles is located was purchased by Pilgrimage Yoga. For the next week, books are being sold for 50 percent off usual prices. Today I purchased three great books for only a dollar.

The owner of the store, Bill Burgett, a witty man full of life, looked like he was losing his only child. He’ll continue selling books online, but it won’t be the same. I will miss going in and wandering aimlessly through the mountains of books. Normal Heights won’t be the same.
