Bugaboo Range Heli-Hiking, Canadian Rockies

While on a "heli-hiking" trip in the Canadian Rockies (more specifically the Bugaboo Range), we were hit suddenly with a heavy snowstorm, which was unusual for July.

Heli-hiking involves a small group, with a guide (all ages and fitness levels accommodated), getting dropped off on a remote mountain peak and left to explore all day.

I was on one peak watching the helicopter fly in to collect another hiking group from a different peak. It was just crazy, watching it navigate through the storm like that. To collect our group, the pilot landed the machine right between the pile of hikers and the pile of gear with about six inches of clearance.

It was an amazing trip!
