A New Dog Park Worth Barking About

If you have ever wondered what dogs dream about when their tails start tapping the floor during deep sleep, retrieving tennis balls and making friends at the new dog park in Rancho Peñasquitos is it! This park has opened on the green belt across the street from the Rancho Peñasquitos Library at Salmon River Road and Fairgrove Lane. Over the past several months, construction crews have placed fencing and laid new concrete to create two off-leash dog runs covering roughly an acre. The fenced-in areas include separate double-gated entries. New concrete benches were put in place over the past few days. Cleaning up the dirt and debris on the sidewalk appears to be all that now remains for completion of the project. Pickup bags for dog waste are provided. A German shepherd owner commented that before the park was fenced, owners often got a physical workout just by keeping their dog from running out of the park; now the atmosphere is more relaxed.
