Rowdy’s End Point

At around 10:20 p.m. on Sunday, November 29, sheriff’s deputies responded to a 911 call about a shooting at an apartment complex on Holly Avenue in Imperial Beach.

Inside an apartment, police discovered a 21-year-old female who had been shot at least once in the face. The victim was transported to UCSD Medical Center, where she was listed as being in “grave condition.” The entire block was taped off as sheriff homicide detectives interviewed neighbors and searched for a suspect.

San Diego County sheriff's homicide Lt. Dennis Brugos told the media at the scene Monday morning that at about 6:00 a.m. the victim’s boyfriend, 32-year-old Samuel Brians, was taken into custody at a nearby home on Evergreen Avenue.

According to Brugos, no weapon had been found and CSI technicians were on the scene trying to reconstruct the night’s events as there were no witnesses. Brugos declined to answer who made the initial 911 call.

Neighbor Pam F. said of the victim and boyfriend, “We’ve yelled at them a couple times. They get rowdy during Chargers games. When I heard someone was shot, I immediately thought of them.”
