The CHP communications center reported that the wires from the fallen power pole were exposed after the collision, creating a traffic hazard on the roadway. A Sig Alert was issued, and Ramba de las Flores was closed from Calle Chaparro to El Acebo for at least six hours while SDG&E worked on the downed power lines.

According to RSFFPD public information officer Julie Taber, “The car, a 1999 Volvo, ended up 200 feet away in a ditch, and no occupants could be found. There was no threat of a fire, but several residents were without power for several hours.”
