Ghost Rider

Witnesses reported a motorcycle crash at approximately 1:45 p.m. on April 29. Volunteer sheriff's deputies were the first to reach the scene on Highway 79, near the Green Valley state campgrounds. No rider could be located, and a short search of the surrounding area ensued.

After more law-enforcement officers arrived, one of them stated that they believed the rider had left with the aid of a friend. Because the motorcycle sustained major damage, deputies believed the rider was injured. One officer noticed missing bark from a tree, likely struck by the thrown rider. The motorcycle did not appear to be stolen, but officers planned to investigate further.
