¡Choque!

Tijuana police arrested a woman on Thursday, April 9, who they say was involved in three car crashes over a distance of less than a mile. Officers remain puzzled as to why the accidents occurred.

Éricka Domínguez, 38, was taken into custody after she allegedly drove her sedan into a street post in the Zona Norte neighborhood; then she ran into a parked car as she was trying to leave the area. Later, she allegedly crashed into a retaining wall on Avenida International, a major thoroughfare that runs parallel to the U.S.–Mexico border; that is where police caught up with her.

Investigators said Domínguez did not appear to be suffering from any health problems and showed no signs of drunkenness. The time the collisions occurred was not disclosed (nor were the make or model of the car she was driving).

She was taken into custody and, under Baja California law, will be held until she can prove she has the resources to pay for the damages that police say occurred while she was behind the wheel.
