The "billiards" moniker tells you this great barn of a pool hall has been around awhile. Thirty years or so. Fact is, only two of its 21 tables are for billiards. One more is for snooker, and the other 18 are for pool. And the other fact is San Diego State provides a lot of the customer base here, especially on weekends. It can get raucous around 10 on a Friday or Saturday. But that's part of the place's unique "atmos." Good cheap eats and beer keep players lingering. They do get pros coming in -- sometimes for the Tuesday night competitions, but more likely for the Third Sunday tournaments. And especially the annual January tournament. 18 and up only.
