Since 1972, this referral agency has provided retirees to serve as house and pet sitters for those on vacations or business trips away from home. The "sitters" offer 24-hour, live-in companionship for pets and they water plants and yards, bring in newspapers, take deliveries, answer phones, and provide a presence that deters burglary and vandalism. The company is bonded and insured, references are available, and nonsmoking sitters are available. The cost is $55 per day for one to four days and $50 per day for five days or more. Prices are slightly higher if you have three or more pets needing care.
