"The independent filmmaker's journey making films is often as compelling as the film itself," says Dan Hare, director of the Independent Film Society. Informal question and answer sessions with the filmmakers prior to each monthly screening give IFS members the skinny on what it's really like to make an indiefilm. In January the IFS is launching a televised version of this filmmaker forum called the Director's Studio. It will air on UPN Channel 13. San Diego filmmaker, Karl Kozak, will be the first director featured and he'll present his films To Hell with Love and Out of the Black.
