Take the kids to this car wash, where they let you stay inside the vehicle. No one can hear you scream with pretend fright as big cloth strips slap at the windshield and jets of water bombard the windows. It's cheap, too: $6.50 for the basic wash. You have to vacuum the car interior yourself, at a little island with upright canisters and unwieldy hoses. But that's part of the fun, too.
