The bar's biggest plus is its location adjacent to the outdoor concert venue that features some of the biggest names in music each summer. "A lot of times, the people who are playing a concert outside will then come in and play an impromptu, unannounced set at the Backstage Bar," explains club manager Mike Pritchard. "Two years ago, Chris Isaak played a longer set in here than he did at his 'official' concert." Earlier this year, Alan Parsons did an after-concert set with locals Rockola. In addition to the impromptu acts, the bar offers live music nightly, featuring local and national acts covering every genre from country to rock, blues, jazz, and disco. The tables overlook the bar and the floor-to-ceiling windows offer a dazzling view of the marina and the sunsets over Point Loma.
