Bugs and slugs, no extra charge

I bought some organic celery and broccoli and I noticed the produce was covered in bugs, slugs, caterpillars, etc. It was psychologically upsetting, but I don't want to waste food, so can one eat the veggies after the bugs are removed?

I have to assume by now that you've washed the veggies and eaten them. Since you're still around to read this, there's your answer. You could probably steam the veggies with the critters attached and still survive the meal. If you're willing to pay extra for organic foods, wildlife could be part of the deal. That's pretty much the point of organics.
