The Brighter Side has been helping cancer patients for six years. "We like to think of ourselves as a one-stop shop for women who are being treated for cancer or who have had cancer," explains owner Bink Cook. The store sells mastectomy products, bras, prosthetics, swimwear with pockets, lingerie. They also carry wigs, a huge selection of turbans and scarves, and some educational and inspirational books and tapes. "Several of the women who work here, as well as myself, are cancer survivors," says Cook. "So we are able to help the women with questions that they might have and steer them in the right direction." The store also has a couple of funds set up for people who do not have the resources or insurance to cover costs. Donated wigs, prosthetics, and mastectomy bras are also available to women in need.
