Since 1959, Dave's Display World has been the most comprehensive, all-encompassing store for holiday and party decorations in San Diego. If they can't find it in the catalogue, they'll research until they find the item elsewhere. Christmas is a fun time to visit and see the over-the-top decorating ideas. Warning: This is no place for the claustrophobic. The original store was located in the area that now serves as a parking lot, but it burned down in 1974. Since then, everything has been crammed into the current building, which was formerly used as warehouse space. There is just enough room to walk through the aisles -- aisles crowded from ceiling to floor. Monday-Friday, 9:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m.; closed Saturday and Sunday; after Labor Day open Saturday and Sunday, 11:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.
