It's hardly a secret that local farmers' markets are often brimming and bursting with blossoms that cost less and seem to last longer than flowers purchased elsewhere. But as you walk amid the blur of color, keep your eye out for a bucket of bouquets featuring six large-bloomed roses -- in various shades of pink, orange, yellow, red, white, or purple -- depending on the time of year --surrounded by daisies, lilies, baby's breath, and more. Also look for the little chalkboard sign peeking out from amid the bunches -- the one that, amazingly, reads: $6. Company owner Alfredo Hildago has been growing flowers locally for the last 24 years and has been running his own venture for the past two. He also does wholesale and special orders.
