Ever seen one of those wasps with long legs that dangle as they fly? The British Airways 747-400 coming in over the parking building on Laurel looks just like one when you watch from the balcony at the Windsock Bar and Grill at the Jimsair terminal. This is as close as you can get. The sight's awesome. She seems to float forever, a ridiculous foot above the tarmac...then choik! choik! Blue smoke billows up from 16 wheels. "Oh my God! What a lady! Bee-yootiful!" shouts one of the regular 747-watchers, thumping the metal rail with his fist. That's how enthusiastic these plane freaks get here on the balcony. Order a $3.50 vodka-tonic in a martini glass so you can toast "The Lady" as she comes in (around 4:30 to 5:00 p.m., daily). Also watch for VIPs taxiing right up to Jimsair in their private jets.
