By 10:00 a.m. the queue stretches out to the middle of the street. But Garnet Avenue ends here, at Crystal Pier, so there's little danger of being hit by a car while you're waiting to order one of the four varieties of egg burritos. Nonmotorized traffic -- joggers, strollers, bicyclists, skaters -- streams by, an endless diversion, while thick hi-cal smells of bacon, onions, fried potatoes, and sizzling French toast provide reassurance that the wait is worth it. Afterward, when eater's remorse sets in, this is the perfect spot to walk it off. Heading south, there's boardwalk for a good two and a half miles, all the way to the Mission Bay Channel. For variety, you can meander back along the bay.
