Owners and proprietors John and Paula Freatas opened the first Pasta Pronto on Via De La Valle 13 years ago and have enjoyed a flow of regulars. Now a second location in Solana Beach offers more of the same. Eating there is like being at home, cooked for and served by a talented family member. The fare includes pasta dishes and salads such as farfalle salad with tuna and beef tenderloin tossed with penne and port wine. Patrons can mix and match pastas with sauces such as fresh tomato and pesto. Breakfast includes quiche and omelet specials. The mango, papaya, raspberry, and peach tarts are Pasta Pronto's glory. Pasta Pronto will prepare tarts to order for special occasions. Price range, $7 to $10, tarts $22 each.
