The full name is Bertrand at Mister A's, and because of the president's recent visit, the restaurant has been catapulted to instant fame. The renovated 12th-floor premises are elegant, subtle, luxurious without being intimidating. You have a choice of views, an outdoor terrace for cocktails, and a private dining room adds to the amenities. The appetizers range from lobster salad to foie gras, and the entrées include Dover sole, salmon, steak, and rack of lamb. Cuisine may be defined as American with French and Mediterranean influences. Portions are small but exquisite. The owner, Bertrand Hug, who also operates Mille Fleurs, is the consummate host, guiding you through the premises as well as the menu. It's not inexpensive to eat there; appetizers are $12 to $22, entrées $21 to $45. But it's an experience to dine amidst such luxury surrounded by the so-called beautiful people. Try Bertrand at Mister A's for lunch. It's less costly and a grand way to spend an afternoon.
