If you're searching for an inexpensive retreat or a destination point for your guests, don't overlook the Lobby Lounge at the Four Seasons Hotel in Carlsbad. It overlooks the Batiquitos Lagoon with the Pacific in the distance, and the floral arrangements are stunning. Everywhere you cast your eyes -- on the walls, on tables, in the corners of the rooms, you will see works of art. Vases, paintings, sculptures that will fascinate you. Traditional English tea is served daily from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and offers finger sandwiches, pastries, and scones with Devonshire cream. (Forget the calories! You will work them off walking around the grounds.) A harpist plays at tea time.
