Local-scene historian and musician Bart Mendoza likes to keep track of all things San Diegan. This includes making note whenever any magazine in the world mentions a local group and putting together obscure collections of trivia about events -- Abba's 1976 appearance at the zoo, a taping for the Mike Douglas Show, Elvis's 1956 shows at the long-gone San Diego Arena, and Jimi Hendrix's gig at Balboa Stadium in September 1968.
