For those of you who are mourning the loss of the Golden Star Chinese Seafood Restaurant in Hillcrest, take heart. The family has moved to a large site in East San Diego. It's not as cozy as the original, but the menu offers a wide variety of fish and seafood that compensates for the vast dining hall. Among the best bets are the lobster salad (call in advance to order), prepared with a secret sauce; one-and-a-half pound fresh whole lobsters, which are their signature dish; fresh crab legs; frog legs; scallops and shrimp; fresh daily fish. Large parties fare best because you may sample more dishes, but dinner for two will yield surprises. Should you want to order special dishes, ask for Roger Chan on weekends. Dim sum served daily 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
