The connection between bugs and jelly on toast

The proper death position

Dear Matthew Alice: Why is it that when I bomb my house for bugs, the dead ones are always on their backs? — J.A., La Mesa

Those bombs attack the bugs’ nervous systems, and they twitch around before they finally bite it. Since their little backs are heavier than their little fronts, they tend to flip over in the process and they stick that way. Kinda the same reason the toast always lands jelly-side down. Which is probably why you have all those bugs in the first place.
